Cycle Syncing. Have you heard of it? It’s becoming more and more popular within the fitness world, however, it’s still pretty spankin’ new in Nashville, Tennessee. So, what is it?
The term “Cycle Syncing” was first introduced by Alisa Vitti, an integrative nutritionist and women’s hormone expert…
“This phase-based self-care method aligns each of the 4 phases of your cycle (Follicular, Ovulatory, Luteal & Menstrual) with diet, exercise and lifestyle practices to balance your hormones & optimize your overall health.”
Cycle Syncing Fitness focuses on the exercise bit.
What are the benefits? Cycle Syncing as it pertains to exercise will:
- Maximize on your workouts
- Experience more stable energy
- Feel happier and improve mood
- Reduce PMS (anxiety, fatigue, mood swings, insomnia, etc.)
- Avoid burnout
- Increase libido
- Fertility support (will give you awareness of your cycle to help you make baby-making time decisions)
After 10+ years of doing HIIT 5x/week and only feeling great half of the time, I began to lean in and listen to what my body truly needed from me and from my fitness routine. And it turns out, she lives her best life when I align exercise to my menstrual cycle.
As women, we may be taught to fight pain, push harder through that extra workout, and avoid complaining. But are we really doing ourselves any favors when it comes to our fitness routine and feeling good in our bodies?
As your hormones fluctuate, so can your energy and mood, which affects how your body may approach fitness.
That’s why, according to this Cycle Syncing method, it may be beneficial to switch up your training workouts based on your menstrual cycle and not focus on “pushing it” every step of the way.
It is my mission to provide phase-based self-care personal training that aligns your fitness routine to your menstrual cycle. It is living in flow with your body, rather than fighting against it!
