Whole Wheat Oatmeal Waffles with Bananas

(Yields 8 servings; 264 calories, 4.2g fat, 48.7g carb, 9g protein per serving)


  • 2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup mashed bananas
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt


  1. Heat waffle iron according to directions. It should be around medium-high. 
  2. Mix the whole wheat flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and oats in a large mixing bowl. Whisk in the mashed bananas, eggs, milk, and maple syrup to the dry mixture. 
  3. Bake according to the waffle iron’s instructions using 1/2 cup of batter per waffle. 
  4. Top with chocolate chips, pecans, or bananas.
